Perahia...

Just got back from Perahia's recital... Hoots! Amazing...
Almost immaculate playing from the first piece to the last... including 3 encores... Amazing textures flowing out of the piano... Amazing voicing... 3 clear voices moving in different directions - all heard - even when sometimes pple usually play the chords straight... Every single note had meaning. the semi-recitative like thing for the baroque period was just amazingly thought through. The entire concert was just jaw-dropping. All v pleasant and memorable interpretations. Lovely arpeggio runs, chromatic runs, scalic runs... All just so effortlessly done - just like water trickling downstream... never running out...

Encore 3 - Chopin Etude Op.10 No.4 .... Yes! the Nodame one... very very nicely played!

Was supposed to mt my Godson's parents for dinner and coffee... too bad J was stuck in school and we only got to Esplanade in time to say hi to them and attend the concert... While outside, bumped into Ping - choir instructor of WVPS... Jee knows her (small world)... Kenny msged me in the aftnn to inform me he was going for the recital too... as it turns out his seat was just a row behind ours. During interval... managed to say hi to Mingyen... Ya! long time no see! Glad to know that you're fine and well. And also bumped into my 2 ex-pupils... J's current pupils... aiyoh... After concert, near colours, we bumped into Luq our ex-ex-ex -band maj frm when i was t-i-c... Today very popular day to bump into pple... or is it cuz it's a Fri...!?

Put in a good deal of prac on the piano and flute today... If only this was the case everyday since i quit... I would have gotten my LR! geez... I'm soooo infatuated with Bach right now... (besides Rach who is my first love lah... haha)
