And... it's the Hols!
So... I like kinda went to school for a couple of days last week... only... and AN afternoon...
Since it was grad night on Thurs, had to stay in till 8 or so... it was like kinda the usual stuff... and I was in the gallery, just checkin on the MR pple and talking to my band librarians... settling repertoire, and all sorts of stuff for the coming year... In the morning, said my 'goodbye' speech to my form class... and well... settled some admin stuff... settled down for a movie... 'Les Choristes'... they liked it! whether it's because it was french or there are the 'naughty' type of pple, I have no idea... Most of the afternoon was spent sitting at my desk... again settling things, and heading for like an EAGLES mtg... gosh... so so bzy!
Fri started with briefing... hey! it's short... again... hee hee... got back to school in time to catch the pupils... anyways, wasn't the intention. Band prac was ok... but man... had to speak and 'counsel' sooo many pupils with regards to their subj options for next year! I never knew choosing subjects were such an emotional task! Plenty of happenings the whole day... Imm after band prac, met the parents... like 12... my co took like 4 to 5 of them... so I was handing less this time around. The parents were mostly ok... so... by 2030... headed for lakeside MRT with Mdm Tay... it was a fun walk...! supper was at Swenson's... somewhere new this time around...
Had to see a 'new' kid at 12 nn today... it's interesting how words get spread... this 'new' kid / student's parent heard about me from one of the parents of my 3... very very 'sad-case' piano students... somehow the mother indicated the need for her boy to be able to read notes and play piano... somethin she claims that her son can't do... oh well... so asked me to 'audit' him and 'diagnose' the situation... (alamak? how to diagnose this type of thing? I was prob just crapping... although, I kinda found out his aptitudes and abilities... anyways, 1 session, too soon to tell) then kinda expected another pupil to come by... he did... he's a bright kid, abilities and drive are no problems for this child... just proper guidance... it's actually ONE of the few lessons I really enjoyed teaching! Was so tired after that... so knocked out till it was time to head to Westwinds... (originally had the intention to prac flute... but was just so tired...)
Prac was pretty bad... balance was off... kinda out of tune... sigh... and I forgot that I had to prac my acc piece for Cal's exam... oh no... So much to do... luckily it's the HOLS - not much left though... considering there's the SEM (surprise surprise...! bleh... and I didn't know about it... my colleague told me abt it b4 i had the info passed to me~~)... the lessons, band prac, band camp and tours... and 2 performances too...sheesh...
it's the beginning of the 'promised' 'next week'... 7 days to 'judgement call'... shall remain 'dumb'...
