Paganini Etudes...

Ok... How coincidental is this...?

Monday: The same day Ms Akiko asked me to try out the Liszt's Paganini Etudes, I chance upon Paganini's Caprices by Itzhak Perlman in J's car on our drive back. Crazy right...? That was a postlude to my "minnie" mouse purchase and dinner at "osaka" street @ JP. The other places didn't seem tempting enough... and the idea of trying out Okonomi-yaki at tht place seemed enticing enough...

Here's wat we ordered: a sirloin teppanyaki set, with choice of chawanmushi or tofu? (of course i chose - dunno why me - but i chose chawanmushi) and white/garlic/egg fried rice, a seafood yakisoba and a scallop okonomi-yaki. Haha... of course the okonomi is my special request. On first look the okonomi looked like cannot make it... upon eating it - actually not bad... got crunchy crunchy veges inside... flour not SO much. The "long-awaited" chawan-mushi was interesting. It came as a little "cup-cake" like thing... it was steamed egg in half a yellow onion... would have finished the onion if the waitress didn't take the teaspoon away.

It seems like everybody loves Hamamatsu City Song... The FCSS choir girls enjoyed listening and even singing it in solfege! Now to work on Amazing Grace with Dona Nobis Ostinato and Min's suggestion of Postcards' - Lenggang Kangkung/Munaeru Valibaa medley... :)

Met up with an ex-colleague yest morning. Long breakfast followed by a long chat over at my place. It was already almost 12 noon before she left and i got down to work - had to scan scores to PDF. We planned to meet soon... for a swim at her place... Had originally wanted to practice the Paganini Etude today... but, no time at all! sighz... one day lost... how to make it in time for March... i'm gonna die a terrible death.
