And... Bostock's in town...

Ok, this wasn't supposed to be of any relation to me whatsoever lah. And, considering i've been somehow kept out of the info loop (not by choice or whom... just out...), i really have nothing to so with it. But as fate has it... A 2 SMS received frm the Maj himself on Sunday morning was a request for me to head down to Central band for rehearsals and play for 1/2 pieces tht require harp parts on synthesizer... (Mr Douglas Bostock himself requested the part be covered) i was SOSed to cover the part...

So... i agreed.

First of 2 rehearsals today. At first, i was told to play only for Koshi... turns out Mr Ito had written a harp part for Gloriosa and Mr Bostock has it... which means now got 2 pieces. Sight-readable notes... but gliss and timing a bit hard to catch... eek. Managed to learn quite a bit from him though... He has tremendous observation skills when it comes to conducting... nothing about the conductors missed his eyes. Many comments were given with regards to gesture (hands, legs, fingers, shoulders, elbows, body, head - any part of the body) and its relation to sound produced by the band. Though it is all very basic, many pple, including me, tend to forget this point. Thus, the reinforcement for me was really good and very clear. Observing this was useful enough for me... I'm not one of those who were brave enough to face the band and get commented on... too daunting for me.

Another rehearsal tmr morning - however, dunno how i'm gonns be able to sit through another hour of gliss... some skin frm one of my fingers fell off today... another 3 fingers suffered abrasion and has produced pus already... eeks! Hope they'll be better tmr...

A ride from Clarence to AMKhub for dinner saw us bumping into Ras... who had just finished his YJ reh and was going to catch dinner too... before heading to Maris. So... we had dinner together... more projects, more projects... ooh
