Back...
Yep, yep... I'm back.
Still don't fancy an online persona... tht's y still not on facebook.
But... wth... i miss writing... and i will definitely lose my physical diaries... so...
Thanks to those who did try to keep updated with what's happening with me... only to realise that i haven't blogged in such a long time... pai seh ah... ;)
Lots have happened... but i'm not gonna backtrack much.
Just needed to complain and get this out of my system...
Came across a parent... of a new piano pupil i have... totally CAN'T stand her...
1) she complained about how she thought this piano teacher from China was supposed to be good but in the end caused her daughter to have odd hand movements when playing piano.
2) she then complained that Singapore piano teachers are not bothered with the shape of pupils' hands when they are playing piano
3) after that she starts asking me how i teach and whether i teach the "tapping" or rather... in my terms the "detached" method.
4) When she sat in on the 2nd session - cuz 1st lesson was spent on "audition" the 2nd time i saw the child was the first "official" lesson - she had the bloody cheek to insist that i teach her daughter BOTH hands at the same time (for a new piece) as opposed to Right then Left... the way i did... what made it worse was she actually argued with me that from this point onwards her daughter should be learning both hands... cuz it's "not right" for her to learn one hand at this developing stage.... WTF!?!?
First she questions other teachers' techniques... then she questions Singaporean teachers' ability to teach her daughter... then she questions my technique... then she questions my teaching method...
I have a good mind to sack this pupil... anyone has any suggestions how to do this tactfully?
It's not tht she's no good... (in fact, though she came across as pretty proud and arrogant and mischievous in the beginning, at the end of tht "first" lesson i could tell tht she'd already warmed up and trusted me) i just can't stand her mother... (i think the daughter can't stand the way her mum spoke to me and "insisted" on certain things)
That was the first time i actually used such an unfriendly tone with my piano pupils' parent. - there's always a FIRST for everything i suppose...
Comments on how to crack such parents are absolutely welcomed! I need solutions!
And for the record... Nodame Cantabile rocks!!! The best part about this show is that many of my favourite pieces are featured... I love it I love it...!

hi there u can just say " i m sorry, i need to let u know i am not available to teach ur daughter because of other commitments. OR u can ask the daughter to tell her mom how much she loves u so she can stop.
